Roque de los Muchachos Stargazing

Activity Details

We'll pick you up from the meeting point in La Palma that you select and head by road to the highest part of the island. The location offers opportunities to spot thousands of stars from Roque de Los Muchachos.

La Palma is a suggested destination for stargazing due to its legally protected skies. Our tour takes us to the viewpoint in Roque de los Muchachos, at 2426 metres (7960 feet) high, featuring the Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory (ORM), which is home to the largest infrared optical telescope in the world.

Upon arrival, we'll admire the sunset from the peak, accompanied by a glass of wine from the island. After sunset, we'll move to a nearby viewpoint.

At this location, we will provide a guided explanation of the stars and constellations utilizing a laser and an 11-inch Celestron telescope. We will explore solar systems, star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies. Observations may include the moon and visible planets.

Following this solar journey at Roque de los Muchachos, we will return to the initial pickup points after approximately 8 hours.
