Activity Details
Your journey begins with a pick-up from your chosen meeting point in La Palma, selected during your reservation. We will then make our way to the highest altitude on the island. Are you excited to gaze at countless stars from Roque de los Muchachos? Let’s embark!
Recognized as one of the premier stargazing locations in Spain, La Palma boasts legally protected skies. Our excursion will lead us to the viewpoint at Roque de los Muchachos, standing at an impressive 2,426 meters (7,960 feet). It is home to the renowned Roque de Los Muchachos Observatory (ORM), which houses the largest infrared optical telescope globally.
Upon reaching our destination, we'll witness the sunset from the summit, as the sun gracefully dips behind the clouds. It will feel like you can reach out to the heavens! To enhance the experience, we will offer you a delightful glass of wine sourced from the island. Once darkness falls, we will proceed to a nearby viewpoint for the main event.
At this prime location, a captivating guided presentation of the stars and constellations awaits you, where we will utilize a laser pointer and an 11-inch Celestron telescope. Together, we will uncover the mysteries of solar systems, star clusters, nebulae, and galaxies beyond our own. Should the moon or any visible planets be present, we'll include them in our discussion as well.
After this remarkable celestial journey at Roque de los Muchachos, we will conclude our experience and return to the original pickup points after eight unforgettable hours.
