Overview of the Day Trip

Your experience begins with a pickup from your hotel in Funchal at the pre-arranged time. Our first stop will be the Picos dos Barcelos viewpoint, where you'll have a moment to appreciate the sweeping vistas of the city.

We will then proceed to Curral das Freiras, a quaint village nestled within the secluded Nuns' Valley. This area earned its name when nuns sought refuge here during a pirate attack on the convent in Funchal in 1566. The striking cliffs surrounding the village will leave you in awe.

The journey continues to the renowned Eira do Serrado viewpoint, where we will pause for about 30 minutes to take in the breathtaking views overlooking the valley below. The lush hills and picturesque white houses of Curral das Freiras create an idyllic scene.

After soaking in the sights, we will return to Curral das Freiras and make our way back to Funchal via minibus. The total duration of this excursion is approximately 4 hours, including your hotel drop-off.
