Serra do Faial Trail (5 km or 3.1 mi)
This hike begins in the Serra do Faial, spanning 5 km (3.1 mi) over more than 2 hours. Participants will experience a landscape of lush vegetation, mountains, and native Madeiran flora and fauna while hiking along the century-old levada of Faial.
Machico Trail (6 km or 3.7 mi)
This route starts in Machico, Madeira's first capital, and covers 6 km (3.7 mi) through Machico Valley and surrounding forests for about 2 hours. The hike includes cornfields, vineyards, mimosas, eucalyptus, and levadas.
Ribeiro Frio Trail (11 km or 6.8 mi)
This 11 km (6.8 mi) guided hike through Ribeiro Frio Natural Park lasts approximately 4 hours. Participants will explore subtropical forests, learn about the vegetation, and admire landscapes from various viewpoints while listening to Madeira's native birds.
Forest of Sao Gorge Trail (11 km or 6.8 mi)
This route covers 11 km (6.8 mi) over 3 to 4 hours, exploring the lush Forest of Sao Gorge. Hikers will encounter varied flora, including medicinal plants, charming waterfalls, and breathtaking viewpoints of the island's north coast.
