On this off-road tour, we’ll explore the eastern side of Madeira, visiting highlights such as Santana, Pico do Arieiro, the Balcões viewpoint, Cova da Roda, and Ponta de São Lourenço.

Tour Details

At the selected time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Funchal by jeep and head northeast to discover the natural beauty of this region.

Our first stop will be Pico do Arieiro, at 1,818 meters (5,964 feet), where we’ll enjoy panoramic views. It is the third-highest peak in Madeira.

Next, we’ll visit Santana and travel along the Levada dos Balcões trail to admire the UNESCO-listed laurel forests.

We’ll stop at the Cova da Roda viewpoint before arriving in the urban part of Santana, known for its triangular thatched-roof houses, which have existed for over 250 years.

We’ll proceed to Porto da Cruz, to learn about the rum production that Madeira is known for. The tour concludes at Ponta de São Lourenço, recognized for its volcanic landscapes and cliffs.

After 7 hours, we will return to the starting point to conclude the experience.
