Cerro Mesa & Garrapatero Beach Tour

You'll be picked up from your hotel in Puerto Ayora and head to the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. After a brief introduction, you’ll start your mountain bike journey through the Cerro Mesa Ecological Reserve, experiencing the area's rich biodiversity at over 1200 feet (390 meters) above sea level, offering views over the Galapagos archipelago.

After biking, you'll travel to Playa de Garrapatero, a large, pristine beach. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious picnic lunch with options like grilled fish. The afternoon is yours to explore the beach, engage in water sports, or relax. Nearby, you can visit a lagoon to see flamingos and ducks.

At the end of the day, you will return to Puerto Ayora and be dropped off at your hotel.

Important information

The mountain biking route is suitable for most individuals, but if you prefer to travel by car for the entire route, inform the guide on the excursion day.This area typically experiences light rain throughout the year.

Pickup

This tour includes a pickup and drop-off service at around 7:45 am from the main hotels in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island: Flamingo, Red Booby, Mainao, Galapagos Suites, Fernandina, Villa Laguna, Isla Sol, SolyMar, Angermeyer, and Royal Palm. Confirmation of the exact pickup time will be provided.

If your hotel is not listed, please meet at Hotel Maidith White Cove (Cucuve S/N and Floreana) by 8 am.
