Cerro Mesa & Garrapatero Beach Tour

After being picked up from your hotel in Puerto Ayora, you'll head to the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. You will begin your mountain biking journey to explore the biodiversity of the Galapagos.

During the tour, you will ride along mountain trails in the Cerro Mesa Ecological Reserve, experiencing diverse plants and wildlife while enjoying views over the Galapagos archipelago from over 1200 feet (390 metres) above sea level.

Following your ride, you will travel to Playa de Garrapatero, a large, pristine beach. After settling in, you can enjoy a picnic lunch. The afternoon will be free for you to explore Garrapatero Beach, where you can observe native wildlife, engage in water sports, or relax under the sun. Nearby, a lagoon often features flamingos and ducks in their natural habitat.

After a day immersed in nature, you will return to Puerto Ayora, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Important information

The mountain biking route is suited for most fitness levels, with the option to complete the route by car if preferred.Light rain is common throughout the year in Cerro Mesa.

This tour includes pickup and drop-off around 7:45 am from the main hotels in Puerto Ayora: Flamingo, Red Booby, Mainao, Galapagos Suites, Fernandina, Villa Laguna, Isla Sol, SolyMar, Angermeyer, and Royal Palm. Confirmations will be sent for the exact pickup time.
