Cerro Mesa & Garrapatero Beach Tour

After being picked up from your hotel in Puerto Ayora, you'll travel to the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. You will ride a mountain bike to explore the biodiversity of the Galapagos. The route will take you through the Cerro Mesa Ecological Reserve, offering views at over 1200 feet (390 metres) above sea level.

At the end of the biking tour, you will journey to Playa de Garrapatero, a beach with one of the largest sand stretches on the island. A picnic lunch will be provided. You will have free time to explore Garrapatero Beach, observe native animals, engage in water sports, or relax on the beach. Nearby, a lagoon offers opportunities to see flamingos and ducks.

After a day of nature, you will return to Puerto Ayora, with drop-off at your hotel.

Important information

The mountain biking route is suitable for most individuals, though a car option is available upon request.There is usually light rain throughout the year in Cerro Mesa.

Pickup

This tour includes pickup and drop-off at around 7:45 am from major hotels in Puerto Ayora, including: Flamingo, Red Booby, Mainao, Galapagos Suites, Fernandina, Villa Laguna, Isla Sol, SolyMar, Angermeyer, and Royal Palm. Confirmation of the exact pickup time will be provided.

If your hotel is not listed, please arrive at the meeting point at Hotel Maidith White Cove for 8 am.
