Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Santa Cruz Island and drive to El Garrapatero.

After 40 minutes on the road, we'll reach our destination. This beach features almost 2 miles (3 kilometers) of golden sand, ideal for sunbathing and relaxing. You'll have the chance to spot sea lions and blue-footed boobies as your guide shares interesting facts about them.

We'll follow a path through the mangroves to a brackish pool, where large flamingos can be seen foraging for crustaceans, often accompanied by other wading birds like herons, stilts, and oystercatchers.

A light lunch will be provided, consisting of a sandwich, fruit, and a soft drink. After lunch, we will continue walking along the shore, discussing the local area's flora, fauna, and history. We will explain the meaning of the name of this spot, which relates to the elimination of a particular insect.

After a total of 5 hours, we will return you to your hotel and conclude the trip.
