Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Santa Cruz Island and drive to El Garrapatero. After 40 minutes on the road, we'll reach our destination. This beach features almost 2 miles (3 kilometers) of sand, perfect for sunbathing and relaxing while enjoying the sound of the waves. You may see sea lions and blue-footed boobies as your guide shares informative details about them.

We'll follow a path through the mangroves to a brackish pool, where we can observe large flamingos foraging for crustaceans, along with other wading birds such as herons, stilts, and oystercatchers.

Next, we'll take a break for a light lunch consisting of a sandwich, fruit, and a soft drink. After lunch, we will continue walking along the shore, discussing the local area's flora, fauna, and history, including the name of the location, which alludes to the elimination of a specific insect.

Finally, we'll return you to your hotel and conclude the trip after a total of 5 hours.
