Castles of Connemara Guided Tour

We will meet at Galway Cathedral at the scheduled time. After gathering, a bus will take us to explore one of Connemara's treasures - its castles. This tour offers a journey back to the Middle Ages.

Connemara is renowned for its wild landscapes and is home to many castles rich in stories. Our first stop will be Aughnanure Castle, located near Lough Corrib.

At Aughnanure, we will learn about the O'Flahertys, a notable noble family in Connacht during the 16th century. We will walk around the remnants of the banqueting hall, view the watchtower, and see the standing bastions.

Continuing through the scenic Inagh Valley, we will arrive at Kylemore Abbey, constructed by politician Mitchell Henry as a wedding gift. You will have one hour of free time to explore the abbey, including its Victorian gardens and Gothic church.

After visiting Kylemore, we will make a short stop at Ballynahinch Castle for a souvenir photo, while also enjoying views of the famous Sky Road.

We will conclude the tour back at the starting point, approximately 8 hours after departure.
