Charming villages, historic landmarks and spectacular natural landscapes: discover the breathtaking beauty of Ireland's west coast on this tour of Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way from Galway.
Connemara & Wild Atlantic Way Tour
On the morning of the tour, we'll meet up at the entrance to Kinlay Hostel in Galway and board a bus to begin our adventure on the Wild Atlantic Way. The tour will travel west along Galway Bay, passing through picturesque towns including Barna, Furbo, Spiddal and Inverin, showcasing the Connemara region's landscapes.
The first activity includes visiting Bothar na Scragoige, a bog area, and a brief stop in the coastal town of Roundstone and the nearby Dog's Bay Beach. Next, we'll explore Derrygimlagh Bog, historically significant for communications and aviation.
Continuing along the Wild Atlantic Way, we'll arrive at Clifden, the capital of Connemara, followed by a visit to Sky Road for ocean views. The following 3 hours will include a choice between a tour of Connemara National Park or a visit to the exterior of Kylemore Abbey, known as a wedding gift from politician Mitchell Henry to his wife Margaret.
After regrouping, we will pass through the Twelve Bens and Maumturk mountains and the Inagh Valley, see the Connemara Giant, and visit the Quite Man Bridge before returning to Galway at 6:30 pm.
