Galway Free Walking Tour

On the day of the tour, we'll meet at the scheduled time next to the Spanish Arch and begin our free tour of Galway, exploring the city's most emblematic spots in the cultural capital of Ireland.

The tour will take us through the lively city of Galway, discussing its history from a small fishing village to a modern university town. Galway's privileged location is also noted as the gateway to the renowned Connemara National Park.

We will wander through the charming narrow streets and share fascinating facts. Founded by 14 merchant families in the fifteenth century, the city boasts Lynch Castle and the Collegiate Church of St. Nicholas as historical legacies.

The route will include a stop at the stunning facade of the Collegiate Church of St. Nicholas, where we will discuss claims of Christopher Columbus visiting before his first journey to the Americas.

Additionally, we will explore the Galway harbor area, which has history dating back to the 12th century with the fort built by Clan O'Connor at the mouth of the Corrib River.

Two hours later, we'll conclude the free tour of Galway at a lookout point with the best views of the river for souvenir photos.
