Killary Fjord Kayak Tour
At 9:15 am, we'll meet in the Leenaun Delphi Resort where we'll be given all the equipment we need for our 3-hour kayak tour.
We'll kayak along the Killary Fjord, which is 10 miles (16 kilometres) long and acts as a natural border between Galway and Mayo counties. It also links the mountain ranges of Connemara County with the Atlantic Ocean and is almost 150 feet (45 metres) deep in some parts.
Keep your eyes peeled for the Mweelrea Mountain, which is the highest mountain in Connacht. We'll also see the Maumturks Mountains with their eroded quartzite peaks and the Twelve Bens mountain range.
This saltwater fjord has a varied biodiversity, as it's not unheard of to come across otters, ducks, plovers, and even dolphins.
After our adventure has come to an end, we'll return to the starting point at 12:15 pm and finish the activity.
