Climb to the highest peak of Margarita Island on this trekking route through La Sierra. As well as discovering its nature, we'll take you to visit La Asunción.

Description

Join us to explore the tallest mountain of Margarita Island. At the specified time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and travel in a minibus to La Asunción, the capital of Nueva Esparta, where we will visit key monuments including Plaza Bolivar, Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, and Casa de la Cultura Monseñor Nicolás Navarro.

Post the visit, we will begin our ascent of the island's highest mountain, observing a variety of fauna and flora. During the climb, we will pause at a cocoa plantation to learn about the local production of this valuable product.

Upon reaching the start of the La Sierra trail, we will embark on a 2-hour trekking route to the summit. Several stops will be made at viewpoints to ease the trek. The effort will yield rewarding views of Porlamar and the island.

At the top, we will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of El Valle. Following the visit, we will enjoy a traditional lunch of fish empanada at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel after a tour lasting 5 to 6 hours.
