Gdansk Boat Ride

We'll meet at the appointed time in the port of Galar, located in the former imperial shipyard in Gdansk. From here, we will start a walk aboard a galley boat. The tour lasts 1 hour and 20 minutes as we sail along the Motlava River to explore the most characteristic places of Gdansk from a unique perspective. We will observe the great merchant ships of the port and parts of the historical center, including the ruins of a 14th-century Teutonic castle with a fragment of a battlement.

Next, we will pass by the medieval crane of Gdansk, the oldest in the Baltic, which underwent significant renovations due to damages from the Second World War.

We will also see the historical buildings of Olowianka Island, built by the Knights of the Teutonic Order, and admire the remains of barns and warehouses that once housed hops and hemp during medieval times, contrasting with the modernist blocks seen today.

Finally, we will return to the starting point to conclude the galley ride.

What is the boat like?

The boats are inspired by medieval galleys, made of wood, with a capacity of 12 people.
