Discover Annecy, an essential trip for any Alpine holiday. Explore a beautiful city in France, known as “the Venice of the Alps.”

Itinerary

We will meet in central Geneva before departing by bus to Annecy, a medieval city in the French Alps.

Following a journey of less than an hour, we arrive in Annecy and begin our guided walking tour through the city’s alleys and canals.

During this 45-minute tour, you will learn about the history of Annecy related to the counter-reformation. The city was selected by the Catholic Church as a base to counteract John Calvin's ideas from Geneva.

Key monuments we will see include Annecy castle and the Palais de l'Isle, now a museum but historically a court, prison, and aristocrat's residence.

After the tour, you will have two hours of free time to explore Annecy at your leisure, enjoying the bridges, narrow streets, artisan boutiques, and canal-side cafés.

We conclude the tour by returning to the central bus station in Geneva.
