If you love design and are in Genoa, don't miss the opportunity to visit the Biosphere, an icon of this Ligurian city designed by famous architect Renzo Piano.
Why visit the Biosphere?
The Biosfera, or Biosphere, is one of the icons of Genoa and a staple in the city's skyline. This ticket gives you access to this monument, also known as La Bolla, or 'the bubble,' designed by Renzo Piano. This glass sphere located in Genoa's Porto Antico houses a zoo and a tropical garden. Inside you will find a recreation of a small jungle inhabited by butterflies, iguanas, and up to 150 types of tropical plants such as ferns, banana trees, and rubber trees. These species survive thanks to modern facilities of the Biosphere, allowing heat from the sun to enter. You will learn about botany facts here.
