In this demonstration of how to make Genoese pesto, you'll see how one of Italy's most popular sauces is prepared in the iconic Palazzi dei Rolli.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet on the second floor of the Palazzo Imperiale, located at Piazza Campetto 8A. From here, we will walk to the Palazzo dei Rolli, a site recognized as a World Heritage Site.
We will explore the main rooms in the palace and then learn to make Genovian pesto, also known as pesto alla genovese. This recipe originates from the province of Liguria and is used to accompany dishes such as pasta, pizzas and appetizers.
During the workshop, we will observe how a chef prepares authentic Genoese pesto. Instruction will cover the selection of ingredients and their incorporation into the recipe. The key ingredients will be basil, garlic, cheese and pine nuts.
Once prepared, we will taste the pesto pasta with focaccia and a glass of Ligurian wine.
After 3 hours of culinary activities, we will conclude the workshop at the entrance to the palace, where participants will receive a certificate for the activity.
