Rolli Palaces Guided Tour
We'll begin our tour at 3 pm on Via Garibaldi, which has a high concentration of historic palaces.
The Palazzi dei Rolli were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006. This network of private mansions was part of the "Rolli", a lottery system of public hospitality for notable visitors. These residences hosted kings, princes, diplomats, and state guests, showcasing elegant decorations and works by renowned artists like Rubens.
During the tour, we'll admire lavish reception rooms, frescoes, and the living spaces of the great families.
First, we'll visit Palazzo Rosso, a 17th-century residence featuring art collections belonging to the Brignole-Sale family, with rooms decorated by frescoes and stuccoes.
Next, we will explore Nicolosio Lomellino Palace, also known as Palazzo Podestà, home to striking frescoes and stucco paintings on its ceilings.
We will visit the Palace of Tobia Pallavicino (also called Palazzo Carrega-Cataldi), which houses works by notable Genoese Baroque artists, including Lorenzo de Ferrari.
We'll conclude the tour at the Imperial Palace to admire its impressive decoration and frescoes.
