Gernika Peace Museum Ticket
"Refuse to forget, refuse to seek revenge". This is the motto of the Gernika Peace Museum, dedicated to the history of this Basque town that suffered the bombing by the German Condor Legion on April 26th, 1937. The museum promotes peace as a means of resolving conflicts, exploring various themes such as peace in the 21st century, peace of life, negative peace, and tools for peace. This tour encourages reflection on peace and war.
With your ticket, you will discover the history of the bombing through testimonies of some survivors. You can see a recreation of how that tragic day was experienced in a Gernika family's dining room. As you explore the museum, you will also reflect on the current state of peace globally and the influence of Picasso's piece, Gernika, on fundamental human rights.
