Gjirokastër Tour
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the centrally located Sheshi Çerçiz Topulli Square to start this guided tour of Gjirokastër.
After an introduction to this town, we'll walk through the cobblestone streets of the Old Bazaar quarter, observing the oldest houses and traditional architecture of the region.
Next, we'll skirt the citadel of Gjirokastër, a strategic enclave during the Ottoman era. After learning about its history, we'll cross the Zerzebili bridge to access the neighborhoods of Dunavant and Cfaka, where we'll see the tekkes associated with the Bektashi Order.
We'll conclude the tour at the Ali Pasha Bridge, a remnant of the aqueduct built by the Ottoman ruler Ali Pashe Tepelena in the 19th century to supply water to the castle of Gjirokastër.
After 3 hours of exploration, we'll return to the initial meeting point to end the guided tour of Gjirokastër.
