3-Day Tour of the Isle of Skye and Highlands
Day 1: Glasgow - Loch Lomond - Glencoe - Fort William - Isle of Skye
We will set off from our designated meeting point in Glasgow, journeying northwest to arrive at our first destination, the scenic village of Luss, nestled on the shores of Loch Lomond.
Continuing north, we traverse through Tyndrum, taking in the wild beauty of Rannoch Moor. Our next stop will be Glen Coe Valley, where we'll ponder the historical events of the infamous Macdonald Clan massacre that occurred in 1692.
We'll then arrive in Fort William for lunch and a chance to capture stunning views of Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in Britain. Afterward, we will be graced by the beauty of Glen Garry and the impressive Five Sisters of Kintail mountain range.
The day culminates in the quaint village of Portree, located on the Isle of Skye, where we will check in to our accommodations for the night.
Day 2: Exploring Isle of Skye (Cuillin Mountains – Dunvegan – Kilt Rock)
Following breakfast, our tour will leave Portree to uncover the wonders of the Isle of Skye's capital. You’ll have the option to visit Dunvegan Castle, explore Uig, or pay respects at Flora MacDonald’s grave, alongside the distinctive Black Houses where Highlanders reside.
Our exploration will lead us to the remnants of Duntulm Castle, a fortress from the 15th century. Do not miss the chance to photograph Kilt Rock, renowned for its resemblance to a traditional Scottish kilt, and enjoy a lovely walk up to Lealt Falls, one of Scotland's most spectacular waterfalls.
This day will be capped off with a visit to the iconic Old Man of Storr before returning to Portree.
Day 3: Eilean Donan – Loch Ness – Inverness – Pitlochry - Glasgow
On our return towards Edinburgh, we will pause to admire the legendary Eilean Donan Castle, a 13th-century gem, famously featured in the film 'Highlander'. Our next destination will be the delightful loch-side village of Fort Augustus, where we will enjoy lunch with scenic views of Loch Ness. Be on the lookout for the elusive Loch Ness monster!
The journey will continue south through the Laggan and the stunning Grampian mountains. Our final stop for refreshments will be in the charming Victorian town of Pitlochry, before we complete our tour back in Edinburgh. Your guide will escort you to the Edinburgh Waverley railway station for a brief 50-minute train ride back to Glasgow.
