PADI Open Water Diving Course

Day 1: Confined water practice

On the first day, hotel pick-up is at 8:30 am, followed by transport to the diving centre in Nilaveli. Basic theory will be covered before gear fitting and proceeding to the water.

In a safe environment, you will practice techniques including buoyancy management, mask clearing, and regulator use.

Days 2 and 3: Open water dives

On the second and third days, you'll put into practice everything learned on Day 1.

After hotel pick-up, you'll head back to the diving centre, equip yourself, and take a speedboat to open water.

A total of four dives will be completed over these two days, leading to your certification as a scuba diver able to dive to 18 metres.

Duration

The course typically lasts three days, but can extend to a maximum of five days if you wish to attend additional theory classes or require more practice time.

Hotel pick up

Pick-up is included for hotels in Nilaveli; others must arrange transport to Ward No. 1, 9th Mile Post.

Important information

After the course, wait at least 24 hours before flying or ascending to high altitudes.
