Explore the history of German immigration in Rio Grande do Sul on this day trip to Nova Petrópolis, where you'll stroll its streets and visit the main monuments!

Day Trip to Nova Petrópolis

We'll meet at the meeting point in Canela or Gramado, depending on your choice upon booking, and set off on this excursion to Nova Petrópolis.

The first immigrants arrived in Nova Petrópolis in 1858 from Pomerania, Bohemia, and Saxony. Upon arrival, we'll explore this history by visiting Pedras do Silêncio (Sculpture Park Silent Stones) and Aldeia do Imigrante to learn about the German arrival.

Next, we'll visit Praça das Flores (Praça da República) to enjoy the lush vegetation, followed by the Green Maze where we will navigate through the cypress trees.

The tour continues at Casa Sander, settled by Bohemian immigrants, where we will taste jellies, crackers, toast, juice, and tea.

We'll then visit Jardim do Moinho, a space where history and gastronomy merge, along with a cosmetics store offering products made with rosehip oil.

The day trip to Nova Petrópolis concludes 9 hours later back at the starting point.
