European settlers left an undeniable mark on southern Brazil. Discover it on this tour of Italian immigration in Grammado and Linha Nova, where we'll also enjoy a tasty lunch.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Gramado onboard a jardineira. This typical Brazilian bus will take us on a tour of the city to explore the legacy of Italian immigration.
We'll first visit the Família Masotti Winery, touring their vineyards and facilities while tasting some of their wines and learning about their aromas, flavors, and colors.
Next, we'll stop at the Velho Casarão Farm, where a presentation on Vicenzo Marcon, a pioneer of Italian immigration in southern Brazil, will be conducted.
Our tour continues at the Cavichion Mill, used by German and Italian settlers in the 20th century. After learning about the mill’s history, we'll proceed to the Linha Bella Cantina, an Italian restaurant for a typical buffet lunch featuring traditional woodfire oven dishes.
After lunch, we will depart Gramado and drive for an hour to Linha Nova, where we will visit the area’s first butcher and slaughterhouse, also operated by settlers, along with the city’s first market.
Finally, we’ll return to the hotels in Gramado after approximately 6 hours together.
