European settlers left an undeniable mark on southern Brazil. Discover it on this tour of Italian immigration in Grammado and Linha Nova, where we'll also enjoy a tasty lunch.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Gramada onboard a jardineira. On this bus, we'll begin to tour the city in search of the legacy of Italian immigration.
We'll first make our way towards the Família Masotti Winery, where we'll visit their vineyards and facilities, and taste some of their wines while learning to differentiate their nuances of aroma, flavor, and color.
The next stop will be at the Velho Casarão Farm, featuring a presentation on Vicenzo Marcon, a pioneer of Italian immigration in southern Brazil.
We'll continue the tour by visiting the Cavichion Mill, originally used by German and Italian settlers in the 20th century. After learning about its history, we'll head to the Linha Bella Cantina, an Italian restaurant where we'll enjoy a typical buffet lunch featuring traditional dishes made in a woodfire oven.
After lunch, we'll leave Gramado and drive for an hour to Linha Nova, where we'll explore the Italian legacy in southern Brazil, visiting the first butcher and slaughterhouse in the region and the city's first market.
From Linha Nova, we'll return to the hotels in Gramado, concluding the tour after approximately 6 hours together.
