Quilombo Valley Tour
On this tour, we will explore the Quilombo Valley, visiting Italian and German families and tasting regional products.
We'll depart from Praça das Etnias at the scheduled time, embarking on a journey through the history and colonial traditions of the Quilombo Valley. Expect a full day of immersion in Brazilian nature, culture, and flavors.
The route begins on a jardineira, a typical Brazilian bus, leading us to our first stop: the Marcon family's house. Hosts Vicente and Fatima will share their family history of Italian immigration to Brazil. We will learn about the tools used for corn and livestock care and sample their homemade products, including grape juice, bread, and jams.
Next, we will visit the Alambique dos Rossas, where owner Romeu Rossa will explain the production of cachaça. We'll observe the entire elaboration process of this typical Brazilian drink, from sugar cane to tasting.
Our final stop will be at the Baretta family property, featuring a century-old half-timbered house of German design. Jovani Baretta will offer us a snack while we enjoy traditional live music and dances. Participants will have the opportunity to join in on the kerb dance, a European-origin celebration of the harvest.
After the snack, we will return to the starting point, with an estimated duration of four hours from departure.
