Quilombo Valley Tour
On this tour, we'll explore the traditions and culture of the Quilombo Valley, visiting Italian and German families and tasting regional products.
At the scheduled time, we'll depart from Praça das Etnias and embark on a journey through the history and colonial-era traditions of the Quilombo Valley, immersing ourselves in Brazilian nature, culture, and flavors in one day.
We will begin by boarding a jardineira, a typical Brazilian bus, until we reach our first stop, the Marcon family's house. Hosts Vicente and Fatima will share the story of their Italian ancestors who immigrated to Brazil. We will learn about the tools they used for corn crops and livestock care and will have the opportunity to taste products they prepare, including grape juice, bread, and jams.
Next, at Alambique dos Rossas, the owner, Romeu Rossa, will demonstrate how the family produces cachaça, a typical Brazilian drink. We will observe the entire process from sugar cane to tasting.
Our last stop will be the Baretta family's property, a century-old half-timbered house typical of German architecture. Jovani Baretta will host us for a snack, along with traditional music and dances. We will have the chance to participate in the kerb, a traditional dance celebrating the harvest.
After the snack, we will return to the starting point, arriving four hours after departure.
