Quilombo Valley Tour
On this tour through the Quilombo Valley, we will explore traditions and culture, visiting Italian and German families and tasting regional products.
At the scheduled time, we will depart from Praça das Etnias and journey through the history and colonial-era traditions of the Quilombo Valley, immersing ourselves in Brazilian nature, culture, and flavors within a single day.
The tour begins with a ride on a jardineira, a typical Brazilian bus, to our first stop: the Marcon family's house. Hosts Vicente and Fatima will share their Italian ancestry story and the tools used for corn crops and livestock care. Attendees will taste products made by the family, including grape juice, bread, and jams.
Next, we will visit Alambique dos Rossas, where owner Romeu Rossa will demonstrate the production process of cachaça, a traditional Brazilian drink made from sugar cane, and participants will have the opportunity to taste it.
The final stop will be at the Baretta family's property, featuring a century-old half-timbered house in German style. Here, Jovani Baretta will provide a snack, and attendees can enjoy live traditional music and see local dances, including the kerb, a traditional harvest celebration dance of European origins.
After the snack, we will return to the starting point, arriving four hours after the tour begins.
