Granada Cármenes Tour

We will meet at 10 am on Paseo del Generalife. The 2-hour tour includes visits to three Granada manors, known as cármenes, to observe their architecture and learn about their history.

The first stop is the Carmen of Martyrs, a 19th-century manor at the foot of the Alhambra. We will explore its baroque garden with French details and sculptures and visit the English Orchard to see swans in the pond before walking through the Nasrid courtyard.

Next, we will head to the Albaicín neighborhood, the oldest district in Granada, where we will visit two additional manors. Along the way, we will admire the façades of significant buildings, including the Carmen of Our Lady of Angustias and the Carmen of Three Stars, which features Arab-influenced architecture.

We will then visit the Carmen of Victoria, known for its impressive use of water, followed by the Carmen of Max Moreau. Here, we will learn about the life of the Belgian painter who cherished Granada.

The tour will conclude in Plaza Nueva at 12 noon.

Important

The Carmen of Victoria has limited capacity. If it cannot be visited, we will proceed to the Palacio de los Córdova and the Archaeological Museum (Casa de Hernándo de Zafra) instead.
