Visit Bethany beyond Jordan, the place where Jesus of Nazareth was baptised, and bathe in the Dead Sea on this unforgettable tour from Amman!

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Amman and head toward Bethany, situated on the banks of the Jordan River. This pilgrimage site is noted for its churches representing various Christian denominations. Known as Jordan beyond the River, this is where John the Baptist baptised Jesus Christ.

We will spend an hour visiting the archaeological ruins of the historic Byzantine churches here and see the exact spot where Jesus of Nazareth was baptised. You will have the opportunity to touch the waters of the Jordan River, significant for Judaism and Christianity.

Afterward, we will proceed south to the Dead Sea, located more than 1,400 feet (430 metres) below sea level. You will enjoy 2 hours of free time to bathe in the lake and experience that it is impossible to sink in its waters due to the high salt concentrations.

Our private tour concludes with your drop-off at your hotel in Amman after between 6 and 7 hours of exploring.
