We will pick you up from your hotel in Amman and we will head to visit Madaba, a city best known for the famous 6th century Mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land and for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics.
Then we will proceed to Mt. Nebo, a city mentioned in the Bible as the place where Moses was granted a view of the promised land that he would never enter. We now head further down to the southern part of Jordan to visit the Kerak Castle.
The Kerak Castle is a Crusaders’ Castle built on a triangular plateau dating back to the 12th century. It is one of the largest crusader fortresses built in 1140s under Pagan and Fulk king of Jerusalem and it was called Crac des Moabites or "Karak in Moab”. The castle surrendered in the 12th century to Saladin’s Army due to the lack of arms. Major highlight is to visit the castle as an example of Crusader architecture, a mixture of west European, Byzantine, and Arab designs, and as one of early Frankish castles.
Upon that, we will transfer you back to your hotel.
