Travel back in time with a visit to the ancient Rose City of the desert. Ride through a narrow gorge on horseback to discover Petra, a millennia-old metropolis carved into the rock.

Description

At the scheduled time in the morning, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Amman for your tour into the desert in the south of Jordan. We'll reach Petra between 7:30 and 8 am. This ancient rock-cut city, originally known as Raqmu, served as a trading hub and the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom from the 5th century BC.

Experience the desert scenery by horseback. Riding through narrow gorges, you'll reach the iconic Treasury or Al Khazneh. This renowned structure in Petra is believed to have been a royal mausoleum.

During the visit, you'll learn about the history of the Nabataean people and Petra's significance during Roman rule. The guided tour lasts approximately three to four hours.

After the tour, take a break and enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant. You'll then return to your hotel in Amman, arriving 12 hours after pickup.
