Explore one of Mumbai's most important temples. Elephanta Caves will amaze you with their ancient stone terraces, statues, and wall carvings dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
Description
After being picked up from your hotel in the morning, you will head to the Gateway of India, where you will board a tourist boat to Elephanta Caves, a recognized World Heritage Site and one of Mumbai's most impressive temples.
Following a little over an hour of sailing, you will arrive at Elephanta Island, home to a complex of seven caves. In contrast to the bustle of Mumbai, you can enjoy the tranquility of Elephanta while exploring the primary temples dedicated to the Hindu sun god, Shiva.
The extensive carvings on the temple walls narrate various stories from Shiva's life, with the central statue of a three-headed deity showcasing the god's aspects as creator, protector, and destroyer.
Once you've completed your visit to the island, you will be dropped off at the pickup point approximately 4 hours after the initial pickup.
