Kanheri Caves Half-Day Trip
In the morning, an expert guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, where the Buddhist caves of Kanheri are located. This area is an oasis of lush, green vegetation.
We will drive deeper into the forest to reach the Kanheri caves, a network of over 100 caves featuring wall paintings, engravings, and Buddhist sculptures dating from the 1st century B.C. to the 10th century A.D.
This location was used by Buddhist monks for meditation and worship, serving as monasteries, meeting rooms, shrines, and study rooms. The guide will provide historical insights and highlight some of the most notable statues.
