Slum Tour of Dhavari

Discover the district of Dharavi, one of the largest slum areas in Asia, and witness the reality for many of India’s citizens.

Itinerary

The tour begins near Mahim Station, from where we proceed to Dharavi, known as a marginalized neighborhood of Mumbai and the filming location of Slumdog Millionaire.

The conditions of the inhabitants are more challenging than depicted in the film. An English-speaking guide will provide insight into the history of this area, offering a comprehensive view of the contrasting aspects of Mumbai.

Participants will have the chance to meet some residents of the slum and engage in conversations to understand their daily lives. This experience is intended to leave a lasting impression.

The tour concludes by returning to the starting point in Mumbai.
