Discover the rich artistic and cultural heritage of a charming Apulian town on our Grottaglie Private Tour. You'll explore this picturesque town and see some of its beautiful ceramics.

Grottaglie Private Tour

Having met up at Porta San Giorgio at the agreed time, we'll set off on our private tour of Grottaglie's monumental and cultural heritage.

Our guided tour will begin with the town's picturesque historic centre, which includes notable palaces and churches. We'll visit the 14th-century Mother Church of Grottaglie, the town's most famous religious building.

Next, we'll move to Episcopo Castle, a 14th-century fortress originally consisting of a rectangular keep. The Baroque façade seen today is the result of later alterations.

The former stables of this fortress house the Ceramic Museum, where we will learn about an artistic tradition that spans centuries. The museum features archaeological finds and various ceramics, including maiolica and nativity scenes.

Afterwards, we'll visit the nearby ceramics district along the San Giorgio ravine, where master ceramists established workshops and kilns in former oil mills, contributing to Grottaglie's reputation as "the city of ceramics".

After 2 hours of exploring this fascinating town, we'll conclude our private tour of Grottaglie.
