Charreada Rodeo Tour

At 10 am, we'll meet at the Campo Charro Jalisco cultural centre in Guadalajara. Here, we'll begin our experience of charrería or charreada, an equestrian sport recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Accompanied by authentic charro horsemen, we will visit the charreria museum to see traditional costumes, saddles, and metalwork characteristic of charreado. We will learn about the history of this activity in Mexico and the origin of the word "charro".

After the museum tour, we will observe the nine different events, known as suertes, including reining, heeling, steer tailing, and the "pass of death", which involves jumping onto an unbroken horse from another horse. You will also try riding the horses.

We will learn about the relationship between charros and their horses and have the opportunity to speak with a group of charros about their performances.

After this deep-rooted Jalisco tradition, we will toast with a tequila.

At 2 pm, we will conclude the experience back at the starting point.
