Tour of Tonalá and Tlaquepaque

On this excursion, you will explore the colonial towns of Tonalá and Tlaquepaque, known for their handicraft markets. After pickup in Guadalajara, the tour begins in Tonalá. Here, you will learn about the town's history and visit key monuments such as the Parish of Santiago Apostol and the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Tonalá is recognized as a famous artisan center.

During the tour, you will see handcrafted items made of blown glass, ceramics, and iron and walk by the town's old colonial mansions. A visit to the street market of Tonalá will allow you to see diverse handicrafts available for purchase.

The tour continues to Tlaquepaque, noted for its colonial architecture and quality wood and leather crafts. As you walk through cobblestone streets and browse craft stalls, you will learn about the town, which was founded in 1530.

You'll view workshops where artisans create their products and discover the details of their craftsmanship. After this, you will have free time to explore Tlaquepaque at your leisure and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Following lunch, you will return to Guadalajara, with drop-off at your hotel 6 to 7 hours after pickup.
