On this excursion to Tonalá and Tlaquepaque, you'll enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of two beautiful colonial towns in Jalisco and explore their handicraft markets.

Tour of Tonalá and Tlaquepaque

After pickup in Guadalajara, we will head to the nearby town of Tonalá. You'll learn about the town's history and discover its main monuments, including the Parish of Santiago Apostol and the Sanctuary of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Tonalá is known as a famous artisan center.

During the tour, you will see crafted works of blown glass, ceramics, and iron as we walk by old colonial mansions. We will also visit the street market of Tonalá, popular for its handicrafts.

Next, we will drive to Tlaquepaque, renowned for its colonial architecture and quality wood and leather handicrafts. As we stroll through cobblestone streets and browse the craft stalls, we will uncover the history of this municipality founded in 1530.

We will pass workshops where artisans create their products and explain the details of their craft. You will then have free time to explore Tlaquepaque at your leisure and have lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we will return to Guadalajara, dropping you off at your hotel 6 to 7 hours after pickup.
