Feel the passion of the Mexican 'charrería' horseman culture with this special experience in Guadalajara, which includes a 'charro' cowboy show and the possibility of taking a fantastic horseback ride.
Traditional Mexican Cowboy Show
We will pick you up from your hotel in Guadalajara at 10 am before heading to the famous Charro Jalisco arena, the oldest 'charreria' venue in Mexico. We will start by learning all about the origin of this deep-rooted tradition. The charrería is a kind of rodeo in which the riders or 'charros' show off their expertise on the horses.
Then, we will make a brief guided tour of the arena: the enclosure where both the taming of the steeds and the 'charreria' shows take place. In the facilities, we will also see the 12 magnificent awards that are exhibited in the trophy room.
After this, you will jump onto the back of a horse and learn how to handle the reins and tame the steeds, just like a true charro cowboy. The venue staff will teach you all the essential techniques to make the horse understand you.
As the icing on the cake to a fantastic experience, we will witness a professional 'charro' show at the venue. After being thrilled by the performance of the riders and steeds, you will have the chance to put on the traditional rider's hat for yourself and make the 'charro' oath.
The activity is scheduled to end at 2:30 pm. Once the experience is over, you can choose to stay longer at the venue or make your own way back to the hotel.
