Granada Geopark Jeep Tour
Our adventure kicks off at the designated hour in the Plaza de la Constitución in Guadix, where our jeeps will be ready for the experience ahead. We’ll embark on an exploration of the majestic mountains and the unique rock formations found within the Granada Geopark and the Alhama and Fardes valleys.
Prior to exiting Guadix, we will pause in the cave district to observe the fascinating dwellings that have been carved directly into the clay hills.
Following our photographic moments, we’ll climb back into the jeep and drive toward Purullena to reach the End of the World Viewpoint. Perched on a plateau overlooking the Alhama River Valley, this viewpoint provides stunning panoramas of the Sierra Nevada and the striking badlands of the Guadix area. As we take in the vistas, we’ll delve into the historical transformations of this remarkable location.
Next, our exploration of the Granada Geopark will lead us to the Marchal Ravine, a natural monument showcasing unique rock formations sculpted by the forces of erosion from wind and water.
A highlight of our tour will be a visit to the Covarrones and Tía Micaela Visitor Centre. This site served as a refuge for the Amazighs during medieval times, and we'll uncover its intriguing history while navigating its various sections.
As we make our way back, we’ll continue enjoying the picturesque scenery of the Fardes River Valley on our route back to Guadix.
Our journey will conclude after approximately four hours, where we’ll bid farewell at our starting point.
