Guaduas Tour
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Calle 4 to delve into the history and main monuments of Guaduas. The tour will include walking and minibus rides for an overview of the town.
We will explore the founding of Guaduas in the year 1572 and its connections to the Crown of Spain, including a visit to the ruins of the old Camino Real, an important route between Bogotá and Honda.
During our walk, we will see iconic locations such as the Constitution Square, the Cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel, the Casa Consistorial, and the monument to Galán, leader of the 'comuneros' rebellion. We will discuss this historic revolt at the Policarpa Salavarrieta House, home of the Colombian independence heroine known as 'La Pola'.
The tour will also include a visit to the convent of La Soledad, established in 1610, which served as the spiritual center of the region for two centuries, with notable pilgrims such as Simón Bolívar.
After three hours of sightseeing, we'll conclude the tour back at the starting point.
