Guaduas Tour
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Calle 4 to delve into the history and main monuments of Guaduas. The tour will combine walking and minibus rides to provide an overview of the town.
We'll explore the year 1572 to discover how Guaduas was founded and its connections to the Crown of Spain. We'll observe the ruins of the old Camino Real, an important crossing point between Bogotá and Honda.
As we walk through Guaduas, we'll visit iconic spots such as Constitution Square, the Cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel, the Casa Consistorial, and the monument to Galán, leader of the 'comuneros' rebellion. The details of this historic revolt will be discussed as we explore the Policarpa Salavarrieta House, where one of the heroines of Colombian independence, known as 'La Pola', lived.
The tour will also take us to the convent of La Soledad, erected in 1610, which was the center of spiritual life in the region for two centuries. Among the notable pilgrims was Simón Bolívar.
After three hours of sightseeing, we'll conclude the tour of Guaduas, returning to the starting point.
