Guaduas Tour
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Calle 4 to delve into the history and main monuments of Guaduas. During the tour, we'll combine walking and minibus rides to get an overview of the whole town.
We'll travel back in time to the year 1572 to discover how Guaduas was founded and its links to the Crown of Spain. It was an important crossing point between Bogotá and Honda, which we will learn about by seeing the ruins of the old Camino Real.
As we walk through Guaduas, we'll see iconic spots such as the Constitution Square, the Cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel, the Casa Consistorial, and the monument to Galán, known for leading the rebellion of the 'comuneros'. Details about this historic revolt will be shared as we explore the Policarpa Salavarrieta House, where La Pola lived.
The tour will then take us to the convent of La Soledad, erected in 1610, which became the center of spiritual life in the region for two centuries. Notable pilgrims, including Simón Bolívar, visited this place of worship.
After three hours of sightseeing, we'll finish the tour of Guaduas arriving back at the starting point.
