Guaduas Exploration

At a time that suits you, we will convene on Calle 4 to immerse ourselves in the heritage and key monuments of Guaduas. The experience will blend both walking and minibus transport, providing a comprehensive view of this historic town.

We will journey back to the year 1572, exploring the origins of Guaduas and its connections to the Spanish crown. You will learn about its role as a crucial transit hub between Bogotá and Honda while observing the remnants of the old Camino Real.

As we navigate the streets of Guaduas, you will encounter notable locations such as Constitution Square, the Cathedral of San Miguel Arcángel, the Casa Consistorial, and the monument to Galán, who led the 'comuneros' uprising, a coalition of farmers and artisans. While visiting the Policarpa Salavarrieta House, we will share stories of this revered figure of Colombian independence, commonly referred to as 'La Pola' .

Our itinerary will also include a visit to the convent of La Soledad. Established in 1610, it served as a spiritual cornerstone for the area for two hundred years, attracting significant figures, including Simón Bolívar.

Concluding this three-hour adventure, we will return to our original meeting point, reflecting on the rich history uncovered during our tour of Guaduas.
