Description
Participants will be collected from their hotel at the scheduled time to start the hill walking tour through the forests of Guanajuato, with routes designed to enhance the experience of nature in inland Mexico.
Depending on the season, the tour will take place in one of the three areas surrounding Guanajuato. Hiking options include La Bufa Hill, known for its diverse flora and opportunity for peaceful forest experiences away from the urban environment.
Alternatively, in the Sierra de Santa Rosa, participants will explore trails frequented by chuïnes and gain insights into the holmoak forest while learning about the area's mining history and historical transport paths.
Information about local tree species, including willow, capulines, wild olive, ash, mesquite, colorín, and palo blancos will be provided. The tour will explain how water from the Guanajuato, Chapín, and Trinidad rivers supplies the reservoir.
The hiking tour will conclude back at the hotels after approximately 3 hours of activity.
