At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Guanajuato. We'll begin our tour at the famous Museum of the Mummies, where we'll check out more than 56 mummies and discuss their historical significance.

Afterward, we'll stroll through narrow colonial streets to La Valenciana mine, exploring corridors until we reach the underground where we will see the minerals extracted and tools used by miners, highlighting Guanajuato's significance as a major silver producer in the 18th century.

Once back on the surface, we'll visit the Cervantina roundabout and Plaza de las Ranas, progressing to the church of San Cayetano to admire its Churrigueresque art and gold-laminated altarpieces.

Next, we'll stop at the Museo de Galeras de la Santa Inquisición to learn about the darker periods in the city's history through ancient torture instruments.

If you're hungry, we'll taste some typical sweets before continuing to explore the tunnels and underground streets of Guanajuato. We will then head to the Pípila monument for a panoramic view of the city and to learn about its historical significance in Mexican independence.

The tour will conclude after 4 to 5 hours in the city center.

Changes to the Itinerary

At times the Mummy Museum may be almost full to capacity. If this occurs, we offer the option of substituting this part of the visit with a tour of the Museo ex Convento Dieguino, which also features mummified bodies.
