Guanajuato Tour + Mummy Museum

At the indicated time, pickup will be at your hotel in Guanajuato. The tour starts at the Museum of the Mummies, where you will see over 100 mummies and learn about their historical significance. Afterwards, we will stroll through colonial streets to visit La Valenciana mine, descending into the underground galleries to observe extracted minerals and the tools used by miners, detailing Guanajuato's history as a major silver producer in the 18th century.

Next, we will see the Cervantina roundabout and Plaza de las Ranas, leading to the church of San Cayetano to admire its gold-laminated altarpieces showcasing Churrigueresque art. We will then visit the Museo de Galeras de la Santa Inquisición, which displays ancient torture instruments used during a dark historical period. Afterward, we will taste typical sweets before exploring the tunnels and underground street of Guanajuato.

We will proceed to the Pípila monument for a panoramic view of Guanajuato and discuss its historical importance in Mexican independence. The tour concludes after 4 to 5 hours in the city center.

Changes to the Itinerary

If the Mummy Museum is at capacity, we may substitute it with a visit to Museo ex Convento Dieguino, which also houses mummified bodies.
