Guanajuato Walking Tour
At 10:30 am, we will meet at the steps of the Collegiate Basilica of Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato. This guided walking tour of the World Heritage City will commence here.
We will first visit the Juárez Theater, known for its nine bronze Greek-inspired sculptures, followed by the Church of San Diego, which includes a former Franciscan convent beneath its floor from the 17th century.
The tour proceeds to Monumento a la Paz, created by sculptor Jesús Contreras, marking the end of the War of Independence. We will also see the main building of the University of Guanajuato and the historical Government Palace.
As we continue, we will visit the famous Callejón del Beso to uncover the tale of forbidden love between Don Carlos and Carmen. The tour will also take us to Plaza San Roque and the Alhóndiga de Granaditas.
We will share intriguing facts about Guanajuato while passing the Museo Iconográfico del Quijote, Museo del Pueblo, and the Museo Casa Diego Rivera, the birthplace of the renowned artist.
The tour concludes at 1:30 pm at the last point.
