On this private tour of the Mineral de Pozos, we'll learn about the history of the gold and silver farms that made this Magic Town famous. We'll see the ruins of colonial estates and old smelting ovens.

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Guanajuato and travel by minibus to Mineral de Pozos.

After 2 hours of travelling on the highway, we'll arrive at our destination. We will visit the Santa Brígida mine, which features 18th-century silver-smelting ovens built by the Jesuit order.

Next, we will explore the Cinco Señores mines to learn about the underground richness of Mineral de Pozos, seeing old tunnels and ruins of a colonial estate near gold and silver farms. Several similar structures exist in this town.

We will also observe the former El Triángulo estate, known for being owned by Mexican president Porfirio Díaz and comprising a cactus garden.

Near the town's historical center, we'll find the old school of Mineral de Pozos, once one of the best schools in the state, now housing an exhibition on the town's history and contemporary Mexican art.

You will have free time to eat, and after 9 hours, the tour will conclude by returning to the hotels in Guanajuato.
