Discover the origins of the popular Chinese city, recently named as China's largest. The Guangzhou history tour will explore symbolic landmarks including the Huangpu ancient trading port, the General Sun Yat-sen Memorial, the famous Beijing Road shopping area and Yuexiu Park, the largest park in the city.
Private Guangzhou History Tour
At 9 am we'll pick you up from your hotel and drive to the Huangpu old port, an important trading hub in China. We'll visit the Huangpu history museum to learn about its significance on the ancient Silk Road and the Opium trade, as well as visit Pak Tai Temple, known for its large incense sticks.
After Huangpu, we'll go to Lychee Bay, restored in 2010 after disappearing due to factories. We'll walk across several bridges, including the 57-meter long Longjing Bridge, and view the Wen Tower from the Qing Dynasty.
Next, we'll stroll along the Beijing Road Ancient Avenue, one of Guangzhou's oldest commercial areas, and then stop for lunch in a local restaurant to taste the internationally renowned Cantonese cuisine (meal not included).
After lunch, we'll explore the 86-hectare Yuexiu Park, home to lakes, museums, and monuments including the Legend of the Five Goats statue.
Finally, we will visit the General Sun Yat-sen Memorial Museum, honoring the figure who founded the first Chinese Republic in the early 20th century. We will also take a walk through its gardens and view his statue.
We will accompany you back to your hotel at around 5 pm.
