The Guangzhou history tour will explore symbolic landmarks including the Huangpu ancient trading port, the General Sun Yat-sen Memorial, the famous Beijing Road shopping area, and Yuexiu Park, the largest park in the city.

Private Guangzhou History Tour

At 9 am, we will pick you up from your hotel and drive to the Huangpu old port, which has contributed to Guangzhou becoming one of the most important trading cities in China.

Upon reaching the village of Huangpu, we will visit its history museum to learn about the symbolic port on the ancient Silk Road and the Opium trade. We will also visit Pak Tai Temple, known for its large blazing incense sticks.

After touring the significant sights around Huangpu, we will head to Lychee Bay, a series of rivers and lakes connected to the Pearl River, which run through Guangzhou. Originally disappearing in 1992 due to factory encroachment, the bay was restored over a decade, reopening in 2010. We will stroll across the many bridges and pause at the notable Longjing Bridge, which is 57 meters long, and enjoy the views of the Wen Tower, built during the Qing Dynasty.

Next, we will walk along the Beijing Road Ancient Avenue, one of the oldest commercial areas in Guangzhou, stretching 1,500 meters. Following this, we'll stop for lunch at a local restaurant to experience the internationally recognized Cantonese cuisine (meal not included).

After lunch, we'll explore the vast Yuexiu Park. Spanning 86 hectares, it features lakes, museums, and monuments such as the Statue of the Five Goats, the most renowned in the city.

Finally, we will visit the General Sun Yat-sen Memorial Museum, commemorating a key historical figure who founded the first Chinese Republic in the early 20th century. He is celebrated as the father of the Republic and modern China. In addition to the museum, we will stroll through its vibrant gardens and learn more about Sun Yat-sen in front of the statue erected in his memory.

To conclude the Guangzhou history tour, we will return you to your hotel at around 5 pm.
