If you're interested in cave paintings, you'll adore this Petroglyph hiking route through the Côa Valley from Guarda! Enjoy over a thousand drawings dating back to the Old Stone Age.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at Praça Luís de Camões to start our hiking adventure through the petroglyphs of the Coa Valley.

First, we’ll head to the banks of the Côa River, where we'll start walking along the trails that house one of the largest open-air art galleries in the world featuring over a thousand cave paintings.

This archaeological site has been a World Heritage Site since 1998. During the tour, you can see drawings of animals such as horses, bovids, and human figures dating back to the Palaeolithic period.
