At the appointed time, we'll meet at Praça Luís de Camões in Guarda to set off on this trip to Trancoso, Marialva, and Linhares da Beira, 3 of Portugal's most historic villages.

First, we'll visit Trancoso, a town considered one of the main villages of Portugal. As we explore, we'll review its history, notably its role in the independence and maintenance of the country's borders. We'll check out the remains of its medieval walls and the exteriors of the Castle of Trancoso. After capturing pictures of Trancoso, we'll head to the next village, Marialva.

The Castle of Marialva dominates the landscape as we arrive. We'll explore its medieval streets while learning about the town's history. Additionally, we'll visit the churches of Marialva and the main square, which holds remnants of the ancient city and its civil and administrative center.

Our next stop will be Linhares da Beira, showcasing one of the best-preserved castles in Portugal. We'll also explore its unique urban layout and the architecture of the old town, which corresponds with local legends. During our visit, we'll check out Misericordia Church and the Igreja Matriz, both of significant historical value. Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in Guarda after a total of 4 hours.
