On this coffee tour of Guatapé, we'll visit a coffee farm to learn about coffee production. We will explore the growing, collection, and drying processes involved.
Description
At your chosen time, we'll meet on Calle 32 #28-29 in Guatapé and travel to the coffee farm in Vereda Bonilla, located 20 minutes away by tuk-tuk.
A local farmer will guide us through the process of coffee bean cultivation, emphasizing the importance of selecting seeds and controlling germination with proper irrigation techniques.
Next, we will observe the collection of coffee beans, which initially appear reddish. These beans are stored in sacks for transport to the pressing plant, where they are ground before moving to the drying area.
Throughout the visit, we will learn interesting facts about Colombian coffee, a major export product in South America. You will discover how many tonnes are exported annually.
We will conclude the visit by tasting some local coffee, paying attention to the aromas, colours, and taste that characterize this fine product.
After 1.5 hours, we will return to the meeting point in Guatapé.
