On this coffee tour of Guatapé, we will visit a coffee farm and uncover the processes involved in coffee production.
Description
We will meet at Calle 32 #28-29 in Guatapé at your chosen time. From there, we will travel to the coffee farm in Vereda Bonilla, located 20 minutes away by tuk-tuk.
Upon arrival, our local farmer will explain how coffee beans are grown. We will learn about the seed selection process and the importance of controlling seed germination through proper irrigation techniques.
The next phase involves collecting coffee beans, which initially appear reddish. These beans are stored in sacks and transported to the pressing plant, where we will observe the grinding process before they are moved to the drying area.
During the tour, we will discover facts about Colombian coffee, a leading export product in South America. You will learn about the annual tonnage sent to other countries.
We will conclude the visit by tasting local coffee, taking note of its aromas, colors, and taste. After 1.5 hours, we will return to the meeting point in Guatapé.
