San Rafael Cocoa Tour

In this cocoa tour around San Rafael, we'll discover the process of making one of Colombia's most famous products, from its plantation to the delicious chocolate it becomes.

Description

At the specified time, we will meet at Calle 32 in Guatapé to begin this cocoa tour around San Rafael.

We will travel to a San Rafael cocoa farm. Upon arrival, we will walk about 200 metres (656 feet) to the main house, where we will be welcomed with a refreshing drink.

Afterwards, we will explore the world of Colombian cocoa, touring the farm with an expert who will explain the processes such as cultivation, flowering, and harvesting.

Next, we will visit the wood stove to see the roasting of cocoa beans and learn about seed selection. We will then observe the process of shell removal, grinding, and extraction of cocoa to make a chocolate bar. Once cooled, it will be ready to eat.

Following this optional demonstration, we will walk to the river for a chocolate exfoliation ritual.

As we conclude the day, we will return to Guatapé, with arrival at your hotel scheduled 4 hours after pick-up.
