Explore one of the oldest cities in the Caribbean with this guided tour of Santo Domingo from Juan Dolio. Discover the Dominican capital's most important places of interest!

Santo Domingo City Tour

Between 7 am and 8 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Juan Dolio to take you to Santo Domingo. The tour begins at Tres Ojos National Park, exploring its cave and freshwater lake. Next, we’ll view the Columbus Lighthouse and the exterior of the Presidential Palace.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant, featuring a buffet with traditional dishes. Following lunch, we’ll tour the colonial area of Santo Domingo, including the Catedral Primada de América, known as the first cathedral in the New World.

We’ll then visit Plaza de España and the Alcázar de Colón to discover its history. The tour continues along Las Damas Avenue, including a stop at the National Pantheon and a visit to the 18th-century Church of the Jesuits.

Afterward, explore the Colonial area with local art, cafes, and artisans. This includes a stop at a handicraft store to learn about Larimar and Amber, followed by free time on Calle El Conde.

We’ll conclude the tour at the Malecón for views of the Caribbean Sea, returning to Juan Dolio around 5 pm.

Temporary closures

The Alcazar de Colon will be closed for remodelling. During this time, we will visit the Museum of the Royal Houses (Museo de las Casas Reales) instead.
