Join us on an adventure through the Andean mountains on our Cajas National Park Hiking Activity. We'll set off from Guayaquil and spend the day exploring this beautiful natural area.

Cajas National Park Hiking Activity

Good morning! We'll pick you up at 6:30 am from your hotel in Guayaquil and begin our trip to Cajas National Park in the Andes Mountains. Once there, we'll embark on a 4-hour hiking activity.

Our route will take us along the García Moreno trail, where we can observe the divided waters, some flowing towards the Amazon and others towards the Pacific Ocean. It is said that many hikers have attempted to spend the night here but did not survive to see the sunrise due to the park's cold conditions.

We will ascend to an altitude of over 6,560 feet (2,000 metres) while enjoying the misty forests, moorlands, and the Chorro de Plata Waterfall, which has nearly 300 feet (90 metres) of cascading water. Additionally, we will identify medicinal plants and discuss their healing properties.

During our hike, we may encounter ferns, orchids, mosses, and if we are fortunate, wildlife such as caracaras, hummingbirds, toucans, and the Andean condor. After completing approximately 6 miles (10 kilometres), we will return to the starting point.

We will then head back to your hotel in Guayaquil, with drop-off scheduled for 2:30 pm.
