Meandro del Melero Boat Trip

Enjoy a magical boat trip through one of the most beautiful spots in the province of Cáceres on the meander of the Melero River. A trip of a lifetime you'll not regret taking.

Meandro del Melero Boat Trip

At the agreed time, we'll meet at the Centro Internacional de Innovación Deportiva-El Anillo, just 8 kilometres from the centre of Guijo de Granadilla. Here, the boat will be ready to take us on a journey down the river Alagón.

We'll start sailing north through the Gabriel y Galán reservoir, crossing the waters of the river Alagón while observing the local bird species. With some luck, we may spot black storks, griffon vultures, or short-toed eagles. Refreshments will be available on board.

From the boat, we'll see the medieval village of Granadilla with its castle, the valleys of Las Hurdes, and the Natural Park of Las Batuecas and Sierra de Francia in Salamanca.

After one hour of sailing, we will arrive at the meander of the Melero to admire its views and capture memorable moments.

After three and a half hours, we'll conclude the boat trip at the starting point.

Meandro del Melero

Access to the Meandro del Melero is currently not possible due to low water levels. The boat ride will approach the vicinity but not enter the meander.
