Experience an enchanting boat excursion through one of the most picturesque locations in the province of Cáceres, along the winding path of the Melero River. This journey promises unforgettable moments that you will cherish.

Meandro del Melero Boat Trip

At the designated time, we will convene at the International Center for Sports Innovation - El Anillo, located just 8 kilometers from the heart of Guijo de Granadilla. Here, our boat will be ready to embark on a serene adventure along the Alagón River.

Our voyage will commence as we head north through the shimmering waters of the Gabriel y Galán reservoir. While navigating across the river Alagón, keep an eye out for various bird species soaring overhead. With a bit of luck, we may spot black storks, griffon vultures, or short-toed eagles, among others. During the trip, light refreshments will be available on board for your enjoyment.

From the boat, we will witness the medieval charm of the village of Granadilla, complete with its iconic castle, the stunning valleys of Las Hurdes, and we will steer towards the captivating Natural Park of Las Batuecas and the Sierra de Francia, both nestled in the province of Salamanca.

After approximately one hour on the water, we will reach the meander of the Melero. This breathtaking landscape will offer incredible vistas perfect for capturing memorable photographs.

Concluding the excursion after three and a half hours, we will return to our original departure point.

Meandro del Melero Update

Due to the current low water levels in the reservoir, direct access to the Meandro del Melero will not be possible. Our boat will approach its vicinity, but we will not enter the area.
