Tour Details

At the time indicated, we'll start this guided tour of Guimarães outside the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza.

From here, we'll walk towards Guimarães Castle, exploring its founding in the 10th century and its significance in key historical events in the creation of the Portuguese kingdom. We'll pass by its walls and reach its highest spot for views of the area.

After exploring the castle, we'll return to the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, where we will discuss the family's historical influence while touring the rooms featuring original furniture and tapestries.

Next, we'll walk around the historical centre, navigating its narrow streets among squares, traditional houses, and cafés. Following this, we'll enjoy a tasting of Portugal's Vinho Verde wine and visit the mountain of Penha.

The tour will conclude at the Largo República de Brasil after a total duration of 3 hours.
