Tour Details
The tour starts outside the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza. From here, we will walk to Guimarães Castle, exploring its medieval history, founded in the 10th century and significant in the formation of the Portuguese kingdom. We will view its walls and climb to the highest point for impressive vistas.
After the castle, we will return to the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, known for its grandeur, which was home to the House of Braganza. We will discuss the family's impact on Guimarães and Portugal while examining the palace's rooms, featuring original furniture and tapestries.
We will then stroll through the historical centre, navigating narrow streets lined with squares, traditional houses, and cafés. The tour includes a tasting of Vinho Verde and a visit to the mountain of Penha.
The tour concludes at Largo República de Brasil after a total duration of 3 hours.
