On this guided tour of Haarlem, we'll discover the history of one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at 3 Lepelstraat to start this guided tour of Haarlem. We will explore the must-see sights of this medieval city.

From the Grote Markt, we can admire the façade of St. Bavo's Cathedral, a significant example of Dutch Gothic architecture. Adjacent to the church is a sculpture in honour of Laurens Janszoon Coster, a pioneer of printing.

We will stroll through the streets while uncovering the city's history, including its connection as the first settlers of New York, leading to the neighborhood known as Harlem in the Big Apple.

The tour includes discussions about the city's past and notable figures, along with visits to emblematic sites such as the Amsterdamse Poort, an entrance to the old city wall, and the Teyler Museum, a refuge for Jews during the Second World War.

We will also delve into Spain's links with Haarlem and explore why this town is referred to as the City of Flowers. Learn continuously throughout the tour.

After 2 hours of sightseeing, we will conclude our guided tour of Haarlem with a farewell in the city centre.
